A full-length skirt cut in champagne satin and draped rather than seamed into shape. The cloth is gathered along one side and drawn across the body in soft diagonal folds, held at the hip and released downward, so the fall reads asymmetric from every angle. One length is left loose over the top — a drape that hangs free from waist to hem and moves apart from the skirt beneath. The waist sits high and clean ere it meets the corset, closed at the side with a concealed zip. Below the knee the satin lengthens, one side longer than the other, trailing slightly ere it settles.

A skirt of this kind cannot be drafted; it must be draped. Length upon length was pinned on the form and taken down again ere the folds fell as they ought — each gather placed by hand, each pleat set to catch the light in one direction and not the other. Satin forgives nothing and remembers every pin, hence the work was slow. The founder had long wished to make a corset with a skirt: the Indian drape and the Western bodice, set together so neither yields. Champagne and gold is the pairing we return to always — evergreen, and the most premium of them. Worn, it is chic and deeply feminine, and carries something more besides — a goddess bearing, quiet and unmistakable.
